Yep, we’re going to be cheesy. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’re putting on our rose-tinted spectacles (for this week only, we promise!).

Marketing is a bit like dating, right?

We aim to woo, wow and win over prospects so they become customers. But like dating, you wouldn’t propose marriage before a first date, so why are you doing it with your marketing campaigns? Jumping straight in with ‘Buy Now’ messaging can be scary to new prospects. After all, they don’t know anything about you!

Simply follow our 3 simple steps, and you will be a marketing/ dating guru…

Woo Them
Imagine your business is like a peacock (stick with me!). They are visually appealing and strut their stuff to attract the Peahen. Woo your customers by showing off your business and tell them why you’re so attractive. Make sure your business looks good – sloppy websites with clipart just don’t cut it these days…

Wow Them
Once you’ve caught their attention, you need to convince them that you’re better than the rest. Convince them that you’re not the type to leave the toilet seat up, or sulk over the little things. Have you got testimonials or case studies from happy clients? Prove that you’re one of the good eggs and wow them with your solutions to their problems.

Win Them Over
This is when the dating comes in. Can you provide a free trial, or perhaps offer a complimentary consultation? Let them get to know you and experience your business. You can also use it as an opportunity to find out what makes them tick.

Once you’ve done these three steps, we give you permission to propose. If they’ve committed to each stage above, the likelihood is that they will go ahead and purchase from you. After that, well, we wish you every happiness together in your long years of marriage.
